Brisbane-based Tritium is a technology company specialising in the design and manufacture of DC fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles (EV).

Established in 2001 to develop power-electronic systems and battery energy-storage applications, it has become one of Australia’s fastest growing technology companies, thanks to considerable export success.

  • For the year ended 30 June 2018, Tritium’s revenue grew 143.8% from $13.9 million to $34 million.
  • 97% of revenue in 2018 was generated through export sales.
  • Tritium supplies four out of the top five EV-charging infrastructure projects in the world.
  • Tritium has its Veefil fast charger product installed in 24 countries.
  • Tritium has a dominant DC fast-charging market share in many significant countries, with an estimated 25% market share in the USA; 50% market share in Norway; 20% market share in the UK; 90% market share in New Zealand; and 90% market share in Australia.

In 2016, the Queensland Government invested AU$2.5 million in Tritium – the first company to receive investment under the Queensland Business Development Fund scheme established to encourage innovative business. A second AU$2.5 million investment was made in 2018.

Tritium’s HQ and main manufacturing plant are in Brisbane, with additional sales and manufacturing facilities in its two key markets of Europe and the USA.
